It is a privilege to be a student at the Contra Costa Community College District
(District), a district that put students’ concerns first because it believes
in the affordability and accessibility of higher education. Students also are
given many opportunities to build their leadership skills and experiences.
One of the most important leadership roles that I have been given is the District
Student Trustee. While this position is prestigious enough, my leadership opportunity
as the Student Trustee becomes even more memorable and rewarding because I
am the 30th Student Trustee of the District, continuing the legacy of other
student trustees in advocating and supporting our students.
As the district celebrates its 60th Anniversary, I am looking forward to better
serve our students in our community and to better represent all the three student
governments in our area. I strongly believe that a community college education
should be more affordable to international students, an open education resource
and health service center need to be established, incentives created for students
to take public transportation, and constituency groups will accomplish more
for our students when we work together. I wish that the Governing Board, Chancellor
and her staff, College Presidents and their colleagues, students, and everyone
else who make this district what it is today, a very happy 60th Anniversary!
Go Forward Contra Costa Community College District!
