have always felt blessed that the college and District have allowed me to work
for nearly twenty-three years in the company of great people with deep humanity
and an incredible commitment to students. Sadly, some passed too soon, but they honored their calling and served students until the very end. Among those special LMC folks who helped me mature as a person and as an educator, spirits who still inspire my work and life were Stan Chin, Bob Zavala, Ofelia Marino, and Harriet Shaffer. I celebrate their contributions and still mourn their loss. "
