The FACS (Financial Accounting Control System) has been working for Contra Costa County school districts since 1985. It has grown from a "one line at a time" financial entry system to a fully integrated finance, payroll and personnel system. Personnel is the driving force of the FAC system as payroll and budget are dependent on this application.

The FAC system offers:

• Data Security - security is to the screen level

• Data Safety - there is a full system backup performed daily

• Data Integrity - files are never out of sync

• Data Entry - screens are easy to understand

• Data Integration - not only is the system fully integrated within itself but also with the Auditor/Treasurer's office

• Data Reporting - reports can be printed at the service provider's location or at the district. Many reports are available through e-mail

• Data Warehouse - data can be downloaded through Excel. This allows districts to format reports any way they like and with data from any or all of the applications. These reports can be saved and, after the initial set-up, subsequent downloads will repopulate the data
