Installing DB2 (Version 7.2) Run-Time Client on a Windows-Based PC

Insert the DB2 (Version 7.2) Run-Time Client cd in your cd drive and close the drive door.

DB2 has an auto-run function. If the installation program doesn’t automatically start, then issue the following command from your start menu (make sure that the drive designator letter corresponds to your cd drive).

Once the installation program starts, you may get the following message. This message occurs if you have an existing version of DB2 on your PC. DB2 has certain programs that automatically run upon bootup. Those are the files that this message is referring to. Click on YES.

Click on Next>

Make sure that TYPICAL installation is chosen. Click on Next>

Click on Next>

Click on Next>

Click on Finish

Click on Exit

YOUR DB2 RUN-TIME CLIENT INSTALLATION IS NOW COMPLETE. YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESTART YOUR COMPUTER IN ORDER FOR THE CHANGES TO TAKE EFFECT.
