Overview of Projects
The District has identified repair and renovation
projects to be completed as needed, based on evaluation of existing
facilities. Projects include: upgrade of fire/life and building safety
systems; seismic retrofit for safety; removal of asbestos/hazardous
materials; improvement of exterior lighting for safety and security;
energy efficiency projects; replacement or repair of heating, ventilation
and air conditioning systems; upgrade or replace aged electrical systems;
improvement of site and building accessibility for disabled users; repair/replacement
of roofing; upgrade of wiring for technology and networking; renovation
of restrooms; repair and painting of building exteriors and interiors;
replace dry rot and wood siding; repair and replacement of pathways,
roadways and asphalt/concrete surfaces and directional signs; and repair
of grounds and fields for safety.
In addition, the following modernization and construction projects will
be carried out at the District's individual college sites:
CONTRA COSTA COLLEGE
MODERNIZATION/CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
- New addition to house student support services
center; renovation of existing spaces
- Removal of humanities building for safety, to be replaced by new student
services center
- Modernize vocational technology building for training programs in
computer information services (CIS) and computer network technology (CNT)
- Remodel to applied arts building for math programs, and addition for
culinary arts instruction
- Modernize/upgrade library/learning resource center
- Seismic retrofit/stabilize art building for safety
- Remodel music building, and addition for electronic instruction

equipment and to furnish new science labs
- Furnishings for newly constructed/refurbished classrooms and buildings
